The CHELLIS project aims to raise awareness about current environmental challenges and ecological themes. At the same time, CHELLIS provides an opportunity to enhance language skills in English, French, German, Greek, Italian, and Portuguese.
The CHELLIS deliverables are designed for learners who wish to improve their language skills in English, French, German, Greek, Italian, or Portuguese while learning to adopt an eco-friendly lifestyle and discovering how they can actively contribute to a healthier climate through simple and meaningful environmental actions.
It is another way to address, present, and raise awareness of the 17 SDGs and the environmental challenges promoted by the United Nations.
- Field Survey Analysis
A research report containing information collected through desk research and interviews across all partner countries. Thematic groups such as pollution, waste, and energy production will be explored. - The CHELLIS Handbook Magazine
A reference tool for professionals working with adult learners and migrants. This resource will include useful guidelines, examples of best practices, and recommendations.
- CHELLIS Interactive Online Platform
Engaging stories that showcase the choices one can make to adopt an “eco-friendly lifestyle” while simultaneously improving language skills : a novel way to combine Languages and Ecology! Available in English, French, German, Greek, Italian, and Portuguese, and tailored for A2, B1, and B2 levels.
These six stories allow learners to explore a theme—in the language and level of their choice—encouraging reflection on ecological transition and practical steps everyone can take in their daily lives.

Why ?
Climate change is one of the greatest challenges of the 21st century, affecting everyone. To take action and slow the process, the European Commission has launched several initiatives and actively participates in global policy discussions. In March 2020, the European “Green Deal” was introduced to strengthen existing measures, outlining key actions aimed at achieving a climate-neutral EU by 2050.
The CHELLIS project significantly contributes to the goals of the European Climate Pact, as it accelerates the proposed bottom-up approach by empowering individuals to raise awareness about eco-friendly actions and lifestyles. As a result, it inspires people to become role models in the green movement.
Who ?
Six experienced partner organizations from across Europe are working on this project to develop unique resources and tools and engage learners interactively.
