CIVIC EXAM

The civic exam is an official assessment introduced by the French government as part of new regulations on integration and access to residence in France. From 1 January 2026, passing this exam will be mandatory for:

• first-time applicants or renewals of multi-year residence permits (CSP)
• first-time applicants for residence permits (CR)
• applicants for French naturalisation

Please note: you are about to register for the civic exam at ALFMED; please pre-register on the official civic exam website beforehand. Your registration and payment to ALFMED must be completed 48 hours before the exam date in order to be confirmed.
